“It was a different time, from the 1940's to the 1970. Living in a culture within a culture. When things "on the street" weren't exactly as innocent as they seemed. Frank Ricci makes us laugh and also makes us cringe with his recollections of life in Post WW2 Brooklyn NY. Truly fascinating and entertaining all the way through. From a guy who learned how to survive and thrive in a town that was the epicenter of Organized Crime in the NE United States. And the way Mr Ricci describes food in this book, you have to know his restaurants were top notch as well. I love the recipes at the back of the book!”

“This book deserves 100 stars! Frank is a natural at story-telling; in fact, as you read this fantastic book you feel as though he is talking to directly to you. A true family mans recollection of lifelong memories. We have never heard so many funny stories about dogs, fireworks, and neighbors! We laughed so hard we cried! The recipes in this book are truly magnifico! We have tried several of the recipes, and they are simply outstanding. We will no doubt try every recipe in the book, knowing without a shadow of a doubt they will be equally delicious! This book is a must read -- buy two or three of them in fact! Would make great gifts, especially for those who love and appreciate fine Italian cuisine! Thank you Frank Ricci!!!!!”

“The author tells his story of life in the Bath Bay area of Brooklyn with an Italian household rich in family tradition.
Nice mix of photos and history of the Big Apple and surrounding boroughs.
Authentic and heartwarming with a flair of intrigue, and how his occupation in the restaurant business evolved with the presence of some shady characters. A unique ending awaits in the final pages, trust me you will want to throw on your apron and take out the pots and pans. Enjoy!”
